About sabdam

'sabdam' is an ancient Sanskrit word which translates to 'sound' and 'word'.

sabdam is a multi-lingual Search engine focused on the non-English, non-Latin Web.

It provides users a tool to query non-English content without the need for custom keyboards and complex transliteration inputs. At the core of sabdam is a Universal Phonetic Transcription Engine that understands and applies rules and semantics unique to each language. Keywords are automatically transcribed using phonetic spellings in English, so there is no need to learn custom key combinations.

sabdam also transcribes most English words into non-Latin languages. Words like 'george' or 'biology' don’t have to be spelled 'jorj' or 'bayoloji'. sabdam understands and processes English phonology properly. Another major enhancement at sabdam is the ability to choose from the suggested list of spelling variants. This saves a significant amount of time that would be lost trying to figure out accurate phonetic spellings.
